Baar (ZG) - the jurisdiction disciplined operators choose when structure matters
When the Ethereum Foundation needed an institutional home, it anchored itself in Zug. When Bitcoin Suisse built early Swiss crypto-financial infrastructure, it did so from the same canton. Zug didn’t need to perform for them; the framework was already there.
Tax helps - and in Baar the ordinary corporate tax burden is in the low-teens (commune-dependent; often cited around ~11.8%). But tax alone does not explain the concentration. Zug offers regulatory clarity, administrative efficiency, and an institutional comfort with innovation that predates “crypto” by decades.
CoinDesk ranked Zug as the world’s top crypto hub in its 2023 Crypto Hubs list; the underlying attraction is more general: commodity traders, family offices, holding structures, and technology firms all value a small, well-governed jurisdiction within easy reach of Zurich - and a culture where discretion is the default.
Swiss Tower has maintained a registered business address (c/o) in Baar since 2016
